Renewd ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and services.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and phone number through Firebase Authentication (Google, Apple, or Phone OTP sign-in).

Renewal Data: Information you enter about your renewals including names, categories, amounts, dates, providers, and notes. This data is stored securely on our servers.

Documents: When you upload or scan documents (insurance policies, bills, certificates), they are stored encrypted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 with AES-256 encryption at rest.

Device Information: We collect device type, operating system version, and app version for improving app compatibility and delivering push notifications via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM).

Usage Data: We collect anonymized usage patterns to improve the app experience. We do not track individual user behavior for advertising purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the Renewd service
• To send you renewal reminders and notifications
• To process documents using AI (Claude by Anthropic) for extracting renewal details
• To provide AI chat assistance about your renewals
• To generate spending analytics and reports
• To improve our services and fix bugs

3. AI Processing

When you scan a document or use AI Chat, your document content or message is sent to Anthropic's Claude AI for processing. We use this solely to extract renewal information and answer your queries. We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Data Security

• Encryption at rest: All documents are encrypted with AES-256 on AWS S3
• Encryption in transit: All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS)
• PII Masking: Sensitive information like Aadhaar and PAN numbers are automatically masked before storage
• Access Control: Documents are accessible only through authenticated API endpoints — no public URLs
• Authentication: We use Firebase Authentication with industry-standard security practices

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share data only with:

• Firebase (Google): For authentication and push notifications
• AWS: For secure document storage
• Anthropic: For AI document processing and chat (data is not stored by Anthropic)

6. Data Retention

Your data is retained as long as your account is active. When you delete your account (available in Profile > Delete Account), all your data is permanently deleted, including:

• All renewals and payment records
• All uploaded documents
• All notification history
• Your user profile

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data (via the app or CSV export)
• Correct your data (edit your profile and renewals)
• Delete your data (Profile > Delete Account)
• Export your data (Profile > Data Export)

8. Children's Privacy

Renewd is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
